This week I sold my portrait notebook, an unfinished Moleskine of the smallest size. I had restricted it to facial studies and life-drawing sketches, and I had some good feedback along with the sale. From now on I will be painting on one side of the paper and trying to use bigger notebooks. The last part is hard, as I can carry the small size in a pocket, but the larger ones are more saleable, as was pointed out.
So goodbye to the crazy staring child on a swing, the arch-browed Spaniard in black and white, and goodbye to Bela Lugosi. Red velvet lines the black box, baby!
