Diana Probst, Cambridge Artist

November Show – Announcement

Would you like to see my work? Are you going to be in Cambridge a month before Christmas? Can you help me do it? This page is sticky, and will stay at the top of the blog while I organise thoughts and take further suggestions. (ETA: This page is no longer sticky.) Scroll down for the rest of the blog. For more on the show and to see the notes so far, please read on.

Yesterday, I took the first step of organising my own show in my studio’s public space. I made the booking. Now, I need to do a lot of things. If you have any suggestions for things I should or must do, please leave them in comments or tweet @dianaprobst. I have never done anything like this and it makes me distinctly nervous.

Thank you all. No matter how this goes I look forward to seeing people.

Todo List:

  • Confirm Date
  • Produce ever more art
  • Spidergram
  • Don’t Panic
  • Panic!

The spidergram will have to be offline, as Desiree says, on a very big bit of paper. I have 40-50 painting days, and can fit in organisation around that. I probably have time for one more Big Impressive Work, and several one-day items. Prints may not happen, but if they do then I will be pleased. Advertising, newspapers, postcards… Is it December yet?

I think I am going to call the show The Art of the Real. I am greatly in favour of Realism. However, this then makes it hard to put in things that are not all realism, all the way through.
